Model crush - Karlina Caune

For me, models have to have a mystery look, be beautiful and yet weird, but still interesting, a je ne sais quoi that you really don't know how to explain.
That is why I think I have a difficult 'taste' when choosing models. My favourite girl, from some seasons now, is still Sigrid Agren. She caught my eye in her first big editorial, for Teen Vogue. Remember really liking her, and after this she went big, and I liked her even more! I think she is ultra elegant and simple, but she has that mystery look, the je ne said quoin in her appearance! So chic.
Yes, I like models that are chic. No offence Cara, love your sense of humour, but there are other girls starting to steal your spotlight! And I hope they do. There has to be space for someone else, come on! Maybe it is because I'm in England, and she is British, so people don't stop talking about her... well, enough is enough.
Karlina Caune is my model crush of the moment. She has been around for a while, but I just can't get enough of her! She already have in her portfolio campaigns for Akris, Jil Sander, Tom Ford and Burberry. You go girl!

Sim, confesso estar um pouquinho atrasada em relação ao Fashion Rio, mas peço encarecidamente que me dêem uma brecha, estou nas últimas semanas de faculdade, e indo a loucura.
Mas por aí, durante o meu cafédamanhãmaisquesagrado (será que deveria ter posto um rashtag antes??), pesquisando e tentando me antenar um pouco sobre moda brasileira, fui no site da NOO, revista online que adoro e juro por, e encontrei as reviews do Fashion Rio Verão 2014, me deparando com a coleção da incrível Patricia Viera, e obviamente me apaixonei. Não tem como não se apaixonar, não é uma opção minha gente.
Eu me lembro a primeira vez que escutei falar da Patricia... estava em casa, assistindo o GNT Fashion, e gravando tudo em fita (pois é, já tinha começado a minha obsessão pela moda, e eu gravava todos os programas da GNT Fashion, assim como os casamentos reais). Ela estava apresentando sua primeira coleção no Fashion Rio, e me lembro minha mãe falar que incrível o trabalho que essa estilista fazia, tudo em couro. Aí pegou. Não só porque ela era a única fazendo isso, mas porque ela fazia com bom gosto e elegância. Suas peças são desejos fashion artesanais, peças de impacto sem serem pretensiosas, ou beirarem o mau gosto. Couro para mim sempre foi algo de luxo, material extremamente difícil de manejar, e muitas vezes bem difícil de parecer elegante. Mas a Patricia fazia, e ainda faz, o impossível.
A coleção de verão de 2014, pelo que ouvi falar (lendo), foi apresentada intimamente em sua loja na zona sul do Rio, tirando o fôlego de todos os convidados. E se era de esperar mesmo!
Esses foram os meus looks favoritos, e estou me contorcendo na cadeira querendo fotografar todas as peças!

Yes, I confess to be a little late in relation to Fashion Rio, but you have to give me a break, because I'm in my last weeks of university, and as you can imagine, going ultra crazy.
In my morning routine of eating my more than amazing breakfast ritual, I decided to update myself a little on Brazilian fashion. My go-to magazine is NOO, an uber cool online magazine from my beautiful Brazil, that has great articles from fashion to music. Seeing their Fashion Rio Summer 2014 report, I caught my eye on Patricia Viera's collection, and was obviously mesmerised. Patricia is a renewed designer in Brazil, known to work only with leather. Yes, every single piece in her collections is made with leather. Believe me, it's incredible.
I remember the first time I heard of her. I was watching my favourite program, GNT Fashion, a great fashion feed in a women's channel. I used to record every single day in my cassette (haha yes, I used to do that, and also to royal weddings). And I remember my mom saying how incredible her work was, because she used only leather as a material. And that stuck in my mind. Not just because she was the only one doing that, but because she did in such a nice way and elegance, that it caught my attention ever since. Her pieces are artesian fashion desires, statement garments without any pretentious attitude.
Her collection for Summer 2014, as I heard (actually, I read), was presented in an intimate afternoon in her store in Rio, and took every guest's breath away. And I wouldn't expect less!

Back with a dream editorial

I'm back! Finally! Had some crazy crazy weeks, and I'm afraid I can't say it's getting better, because it's getting worst! So much to do in so little time. Last year of university is indeed intense!
I want to share this beautiful editorial from Harper's Bazaar UK in a collaboration with the V&A Museum. This is a super special edition only for the museum, and it's so beautiful I want to run to  the museum and buy the magazine now, TO-DAY! Photographed by Elena Rendina and styled by Bazaar’s senior fashion editor Cathy Kasterine. For those who know me, you can understand that this is really Olimpia. Oh flowers, why do I love you so? And spring is coming, finally, with some sunshine and happiness to this very grey city! Let the flower season begin!


Estou de volta! Finalmente! E escrevendo em português, uhul! Percebi que, como quero muito muito voltar para o Brasil o mais rápido possível, teria que voltar a escrever em português para os lindos brasileiros. Saudades!
Bom, essas últimas semanas foram incrivelmente malucas, e sinto dizer que não vai melhorar! Tenho muito o que fazer e em tão pouco tempo, estou indo a loucura em antecipação. Último ano da faculdade é realmente intenso!
Estava por aí no meu Bloglovin, e vi um post no Petiscos sobre a nova colaboração da Harper's Bazaar UK com o museu Victoria & Albert. O V&A é o definitivamente o meu museu favorito aqui em Londres. É conhecido por fazer exposições incríveis de moda, e publica vários livros interessantes também. E além de ter uma ótima coleção, a arquitetura do prédio é suntuosa. Mas meu lugar favorito mesmo é a biblioteca... estudar lá é como estar em um sonho intelectual, com acesso a todos os melhores livros e publicações de moda e arte existentes, e mais de 1000 assinaturas de revistas, desde a primeira edição, incluindo Vogue e claro, Harpers Bazaar.
Voltando ao assunto da colaboração, todo mês, serão impressos um número seleto de revistas com uma capa especial, e um editorial exclusivo que só poderá ser encontrado nessas edições da revista vendidas no V&A. 
Me apaixonei por esse editorial, clicado por Elena Rendina com styling da Cathy Kasterine. Tão elegante e feminino, e para aqueles que me conhecem, sabem que tenho um soft spot por flores e ilustrações! Lindas fotos! Espero que gostem tanto quanto eu gostei!

Shoot sneak peek with Francesca Allen

Last week we had an amazing, but rather cold (-3C), shoot in Isabella Plantation, Richmond Park. We stayed the whole day outside freezing, but I'm very pleased with it, and can't wait to see the result!
